Chief Petty Officer James Allen Shane, Ret. U. S. Navy, 75, of Belspring, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015. He proudly served for 20 years in the U. S. Navy and was a licensed auctioneer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Nellie Shane; grandson, James Lee Brown; and sister, Patricia Rhodehaver.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Diana Simmons Shane of Belspring; children, Jeffrey Allen Shane of Dublin, Shannon Marie Shane of Vinton, and Christopher Ryan Shane of Hillsville; grandchildren, Kayla Marie Brown of Vinton and Jesse Austin Shane of Dublin; brothers and sister-in-law, David Shane of Westover, WVa., Donald and Cheryl Shane of Athens, Tenn., and Gerald Shane of Westover, WVa.; half-brothers, Roger Shane of Westover, WVa., Daniel Shane of Morgantown, WVa., and Gary Shane of Kingwood, WVa.; special canine companion, Maggie Mae; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Ginny Tompkins officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
