Imogene Llewellyn Knowles Semones, 85, of Greenville, S.C. and formerly of Pulaski, Va., died Monday night, January 23, 2006 in the National Healthcare of Mauldin, S.C., where she was a resident for six years.

She was born in Floyd County, Va. on July 12, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Samuel J. Knowles and Vennie Keith Knowles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burley Edward Semones; one granddaughter, Annette Moore; and one great-grandson, Dylan Vaughan.

She was a long-standing member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Pulaski.

Surviving are three daughters and son-in-law, Marguerite and Gene Rupe, Simpsonville, S.C., Marie Hughes, Milledgeville, Va., Burley Jean Moore, Richmond; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Semones, Clearwater, Fla., James Semones, Pulaski, Larry Semones, Winston-Salem, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Visiting will be Thursday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Va. 24013 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1833, Merrifield, Va. 22116.
