Selby, Peggy Linkous
Peggy Ann Selby, 79 of Blacksburg, went to join her heavenly Father on Friday, December 30, 2022.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lourie and Lester Shaver of Blacksburg; sons, Leroy Linkous Jr. of Christiansburg, and Richard Linkous and Robert Croote of Riner; grandchildren, Bridgette Strup and husband Dan, and Amber Linkous; great grandchildren, Georgia and Penelope Strup; sister Lois and Malcom Woolwine; and best friend, Gloria Hilton. She leaves to cherish her memory, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Kit Linkous; husband, Leroy Linkous; brother, William Linkous; and sisters, Nancy Wright and Linda Sweeney.
Peggy retired after 34 years at Hubbell Lighting in Christiansburg. Our mom was a great inspiration in the way she gave of herself in caring for others. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening and loved her pets.
A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, January 11, 2022, at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, Va., at 3:00 P.M. Visitation will be prior to the service from, 2- 3:00 P.M.
A special thank you to her caregivers, Laura Bentley, Penny Thompson, her furry companion Razz, and Good Samaritan Hospice caregivers, Brittany, Connie and Karen.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Samaritan Hospice can be made in Peggy’s name.

I worked with Peggy many years at Hubbell. she was such a sweet and fun person. we shared many laughs. I’m sorry for your loss. I know she is missed greatly.

Lori and family I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a dear friend of mine and Co worker. The joy of her laughter was incredible. She often talked of you all.She loved you dearly. She is in heaven now and well.

i worked with Peggy for many years at Hubbell. we ate lunch together most days. she was a very special person.

Laurie, Boo & Ricky I’m so sorry for your loss. Peggy was a great friend and co-worker. She was such a joy to be around. I loved and miss the phone calls we used to share.
