Seagle IV, George Hoilman

seagle buckyGeorge Hoilman Seagle IV (Bucky), age 34 of Dublin, died Saturday morning, August 17, 2013 at his home in Hardy. He was born on October 16, 1978 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. As a young boy, he traveled with his parents and brothers and played sports all over the world: Jacksonville, NC; Paris, France; Muscat, Oman; Kaneohe Bay, HI; New Orleans, LA; and Dublin, VA where he played football, (found the love of his life, his cheerleader, his wife, Cary Morris Seagle), and graduated from Pulaski County High School.

After his first daughter, Monica, was born, Bucky joined the USMC in 1997. He and Cary lived at MCAS Camp Pendleton for six years where his son, Quint, was born. Bucky served in the USMC from 1997 until 2004 then continued to support the Marines when he took a position in Amman, Jordan as Logistics Manager for KBR to send supplies into Iraq for US troops. Cary, Monica and Quint lived with Bucky in Amman, Jordan for several years, then moved back to the USA just before Muna was born. A few years later, Bucky quit his overseas position to join the family in Hardy, where he worked at US Foods. His third daughter, Stella was born this past December. He was a former Marine and was currently active in the US Air Force Reserves. He was well-known as an un-bona fide standup comedian by his family and friends, and somehow he would have found a way to say something hilarious. He was also a part-time vegetable gardener, alpaca, goat and tree farmer who operated his tractor on his hilly land (without brakes) – you can imagine how he told about his escapades. He was a loving husband and father who lived to be with his family… fishing, camping, skiing, canoeing, building bonfires – telling his stories. Bucky always kept a gathering interesting, and was a self-proclaimed grill meister. He will be sadly missed and loved, and will always have stories told about him. Bucky was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Betty Craig Grantham of Dublin (Bucky just rolled his eyes because Nana fixed his shirt or hair just now) ; his Grandfather, George H Seagle II of Pulaski, and his two dogs Jack and Jamie. He is survived by his wife, Cary Morris Seagle, 3 Daughters, Monica, Muna and Stella Seagle and 1 son, George Seagle, V (Quint) of Hardy. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Johnathan Craig Seagle of Dublin, and Matthew David Seagle of Fredericksburg; and his dog he rescued from the Iraqi border, (Mama); and he is survived by his father, George H. Seagle, III of Houston, TX and his mother, Deborah Craig Seagle of Hiwassee. Bucky is also survived by his Grandparents, Melvin and Jessie Craig of Boones Mill; his grandmother, Betty Hall Seagle Tourney Hall and Dr. Glenn Hall of Radford; father-in-law, John W Morris; his mother-in-law, Dinah M. Morris of Roanoke; his sister-in-law, Amanda M. Morris of Rocky Mount; his sister-in-law, Sharon Seagle, and his nephews, Michael, John II, and Hunter Seagle of Dublin; his aunts Karen, Susie, Cindy and Mandy; his uncle, Ricky; and countless nieces, nephews, friends, special cousins, second-cousins and third generation, never removed friends who proudly call themselves his family. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Dublin United Methodist Church from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m at the church. Interment, with military honors will follow at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery 5550 Bagging Plant Road Dublin, VA 24084 at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at Dublin United Methodist Church for food and fellowship after the cemetery ceremony.
