Pamela Sue O’Brien Scott, 48, of Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 18, 2007, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness.

Born in Pearisburg on August 26, 1959, she was the beloved daughter of Ted and Martha McGuire O’Brien of Pembroke. Pam was an insurance agent with the family business, Castle Rock Insurance Agency of Pearisburg; was a 1977 graduate of Giles High School; past President of Pearisburg Jaycees; and a member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church. She was a granddaughter of the late Joe and Gladys McGuire and James and Clarice O’Brien.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chris Duncan of Pearisburg; her grandchildren, Tyler and Tayler Duncan; her former husband and friend, Darrell Scott and his mother, Margie Scott both of Pearisburg; and many special and beloved friends, aunts, uncles and relatives who have stood by Pam during her illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 2 p.m, in Pembroke First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bill Greer and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Pam’s Posse Relay For Life Team in care of Castle Rock Insurance Agency at P. O. Box 375 Pearisburg, Va.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff, the doctors and the nurses at Giles Memorial Hospital and Radford Cancer Center who have taken care of Pam during her illness with compassion and skill.
