Frank Alexander Scott, 90, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center.

He was born in Childress, Va. on June 5, 1917 to the late Samuel Alexander and Lucy Lucas Scott. He was a member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, former member of Grove Methodist Church, Radford and Floyd Methodist Church, Floyd. He served in the United States Navy during WW2.

Dr. Scott received his B.A. in Psychology and Sociology in 1948 and his M.A. in Educational Psychology in 1948 from Duke University, Durham, N.C. and his DEd in Educational Psychology from University of Georgia in Athens, GA in 1957. He was retired Professor at Radford University where he had served as Dean of the School of Social Science.

He was preceded in death by William Scott, Curtis Scott, Catherine Scott St. Clair, Clara Scott, Louise Scott Bucher, James Scott, Henrietta Scott Davey and Sherwood Scott.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Bundy Scott of Blacksburg; his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Scott and Tom Woodard of Blacksburg, Betsy Scott and William Baker, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Frank A., Jr. and Alexis Scott of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Scott and Kendall Woodard, David and Alex Scott, and Brian and Matthew Ford.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Barry St. Clair, nephew and the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Medi Home Health and Hospice, 5369 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va., 24019. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
