Scott, Ellen B.

Ellen Scott, 82, affectionately known as Boonie of Blacksburg, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg, Virginia.

A wonderful friend to all who knew her, a caring wife and mother, Ellen was born in Bell Haven, Virginia, October 17, 1924. Ellen attended Mary Washington College and served as a bookkeeper for many years while raising her family in Northern Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Sally Buchanan of Machipongo, Virginia.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph H. Scott; and sons, Joseph, Jr. and Alan and daughters-in-law, Jeanne and Liz. A proud grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren, Kim, Becky, Matt, Ashley and one great-grandson, Jackson.

The family will receive friends at visitations taking place Wednesday, November 2, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, November 3, 2006 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at The Blacksburg United Methodist Church located on Church Street, Blacksburg.

Funeral services will follow immediately afterwards at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Ellen will be interred with the Scott family at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, Virginia. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Virginia.
