Lorraine Lowe (Peggy) Scarberry, 71, of Blacksburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2009. She was born in Richlands, Va. on April 28, 1938, to the late Clarence Newton and Plyme Ellen Dawson Lowe.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Scarberry; son, Roger D. Scarberry; sisters: Betty Jo Lowe Keene, Lissie Francis Rose, Donna Shella Lowe; and brothers, Ronnie Jeffery Lowe and Clarence Newton Lowe Jr. She is survived by her children, Phillip L. Scarberry and wife, Debbie, of Dublin, Va., Dora Collins-Hicks, of Christiansburg, Va., Michael A. Scarberry, of Christiansburg, Va., and Robin Scarberry-Tolbert and Paul Sikes, of Blacksburg, Va.; brothers, Beryl Thomas (Tommy) Lowe, Teddy John Lowe and Freddie Don Lowe, all of Atwell Mountain, W.Va., David Edward Lowe and wife, Cathy, of Jackson, Ga., Douglas Ray Lowe and wife, Kathy, of Raysal, W.Va., and Franklin Clifford Lowe and wife, Connie, of Tazwell, Va.; sisters, Virginia Mae (Jean) Hampton and husband, Don, of Pensacola, Fla., Rosa Lea Stacy, of Lexington, N.C., Shirley Ann Johnson and husband, B.J., of Bartley, W.Va., Lydia (Nancy) Dawson and husband, Henry, of Maiden, N.C., Glenda Sharon Mullett, of Lawndale, N.C., and Patricia Delphine Payne and husband, David, of Lexington, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and brother-in-law, Blaine Keene, of Princeton, W.Va.; and dear friend, Jesse Black, of Reston, Va. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor David Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, 2009, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.
