Sayle, Frances Heinline

Frances Elizabeth Heinline Sayle, 89, formerly of Radford, Virginia and Charleston, Mississippi, passed away at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa, Illinois, January 27, 2007.

Elizabeth was born June 25, 1917 in Peterstown, W.Va. to Francis and Lucille Ryan Miller. She began a distinguished career as an English teacher at Radford High School. She served many years as Junior Class sponsor, faculty sponsor of the school newspaper, school yearbook.

In 1939, She married James “Bud” Heinline, a lifelong resident of Radford. Together they became active members of the Radford community and of Grace Episcopal Church. Elizabeth retired from teaching to care for Bud, who passed away from cancer in 1972.

She later married Frank Sayle of Charleston, Mississippi. She remained active, still golfed and at age 78, finally made that long sought-after “hole in one.”

She is survived by her two daughters Anne Elizabeth Heinline of Reno, Nevada and Patricia Heinline Rutrough of Jupiter Island, Florida, and by her granddaughter, Katherine Ryan Rutrough of Washington, D.C.

The Family will receive friends Friday, February 2, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Fourth and Harvey Streets, Radford, Virginia at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2007 followed by interment at Sunrise Burial Park. Officiating will be Father Kris Kramer.
