Sayers Sr., Matthew Joseph

Matthew Joseph “Pappy” Sayers, age 86 of 1013 Floyd Lane, Pulaski passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2007 at the VA Regional Hospital, Salem. Born January 8, 1921 in Cripple Creek, Virginia to the late Robert Joseph Sayers and Agnus Sayers. His wife, Lillie Lucille Roberts Sayers, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He owned and operated Sayer’s Body Shop/Downtown Body & Paint (Pulaski ) for over 35 years.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Donald & Eleanor Scott officiating. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery (Ivanhoe). The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time on Monday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.
