Sawyers, Dorothy Louise

Dorothy Louise Sawyers, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at her home. The daughter of the late Lewis Harvey and Mary Jane Cragget, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Steven Sawyers; daughter, Shirley Ann Sawyers and Anne Sawyers; and a son, Andy Sawyers.

Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters and son-in-law, Josephine Burton, Linda Dowdy, and Nancy and Larry Lytton; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Anita Sawyers, and Randy and Joyce Sawyers; daughters, JoAnn Sawyers and Peggy Sawyers; granddaughter, Rose Sawyers; Andrew Otey Jr.; sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel Lewis, Gracie Duncan, Sarah and Fred Gallimore, and Barbara Gibson; brother, Albert Cragget; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Robert Solomon and staff, Good Samaritan Hospice, and nurses Robin, Jenny, Margaret and Karen.

Per her request there will be no public visitation. Memorial services will be held noon on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the Gilbert Linkous Elementary School, 1813 Toms Creek Road, Blacksburg, Va., conducted by the Rev. Doug Price. Interment will be private at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
