Saunders, William Riley Thomas

William Riley Thomas Saunders “Bill”, 82, of North View St., Narrows, VA, departed this life Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Davie Medical Center in Advance, NC. Born on October 5, 1936 in White Gate, VA, he was a son of the late Riley and Ruby Keffer Saunders.

He was a retired Roadmaster with the Norfolk Southern Railway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Beverly Diane Criner, his son Thomas Neal Saunders, his brother Keith Douglas Saunders (Butch), his sisters Elizabeth Lucas and Louise Snider.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law Bruce William and Susan Saunders of Mocksvillle, NC; his seven grandchildren; his thirteen great-grandchildren; and his nine great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. At Bill’s request there will be no public visitation time.
