Saunders, Myrtle Price

Myrtle Estelle Price Saunders, 86 of Pembroke, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Born on November 12, 1935 in Giles County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nora Price. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Saunders Criner; a son, Thomas Neil Saunders; a brother, Richard Price; and two sisters, Dolly Anderson, and Ida Condrey.

Ms. Saunders was a member of Castle Rock Baptist Church in Pembroke, VA and enjoyed her work as a Nursing Assistant with Carilion Giles Community Hospital prior to her retirement in 2002.

She is survived by two sisters Elizabeth Camper of Pulaski, and Barbara Ruble of Parkersburg, WV; and one son, Bruce Saunders, and his wife, Susan, of Mocksburg, NC. She is also survived by her grandson, Christopher Wiscarson, great-grandchildren, Kailey, Braelyn, and Eli Wiscarson; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Randel, and her husband, Wesley; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Randel. Also surviving her are three additional grandsons, Quentin, Catlin, and Carlin Criner; two additional granddaughters, Melinda Kennedy and husband, Tommy; and Tracy Mohat and husband Doug; 12 additional great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted to celebrate the life Myrtle gave us, on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. Funeral Services will conclude in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
