Saunders, Michael Gary

Michael Gary Saunders, 64 of Staffordsville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Michael was born on November 6, 1956 in Giles County, VA and was a son of the late Clyde Leslie Saunders and Alma Jean Palmer Saunders. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Michael Saunders.

Michael was a 1975 graduate of Giles High School, an autobody mechanic and was employed at the Volvo Truck Plant in Dublin for 27 years. He took every chance he could to go camping and fishing and enjoyed nothing more than his family and a good get together. He was also the owner and operator of Saunders Produce and Fruit Stand at the intersection of Rt. 42 and Rt. 100.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lynn Wilson Saunders of Staffordsville, four step-sons, Hank Wilson of Staffordsville, Junior Williams of Staffordsville, Josh Williams (Suzanna) of Pembroke, Billy Williams of Staffordsville, one sister, Patty S. Midkiff of Staffordsville, two grandsons, two granddaughters, three great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 2pm at New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church in Staffordsville Pastor Kathy Higgs officiating.
