Saunders, Christine Roop

Christine Roop Saunders, 73, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 6, 2011. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Altizer; and two brothers, James and Marvin Roop.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Lee Saunders; a son, Gary Lee Saunders, of Christiansburg; a grandson, Nicholas G. Saunders; two granddaughters, Amber Martin and Amanda L. Snipas; and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Kenny Jr.

The Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Edgemont Christian Church, 2289 Edgemont Road, Christiansburg, with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068.
