Saunders, Annie Irene

Annie Irene Saunders, 75, of Big Oak Lane, Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016 at her home. Born at Cedar Crest in Giles County on August 18, 1940 she was a daughter of the late William Claude and Eula Giles Stump.

She was employed as a seamstress in sewing factories for many years and enjoyed her Bingo Buddies every week. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jason Thorne.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of over sixty years Oscar M Saunders; her daughter and son-in-law Eva Saunders and Tommy Thorne of Pearisburg; her sons and daughters-in-law Mitchell Vance and Tina Saunders of Pearisburg, Gregory Miller and Barbara Saunders of Pearisburg; Kevin Monroe Saunders of Pearisburg; her brother Claude Nelson Stump of Salem; her sister Cynthia Wade of Christiansburg; her eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. The family respectfully suggests that contributions made to the burial expenses in lieu of flowers.
