Sarver, Effie Louise

Effie Louise Sarver, 86, of Eggleston Road, Pembroke, departed this life Monday morning, May 2, 2016 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. Born in Maybrook on May 30, 1929, she was a daughter of the late James Luther Sr. and Virgie Mae Cumbee Breeding.

Effie loved and trusted in the Lord; one of her many blessings was the love of her family. She was happiest looking after her family and home in Maybrook which to her was a little piece of heaven on earth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 59 yrs, James J. Sarver, an infant son Barry Dean Sarver, and five brothers and three sisters. Effie was a Christian, a member of Lucas Memorial Christian Church in Maybrook and in later years attended Pembroke Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children Larry James Sarver and Penny Lynn Sarver of the home and Penny’s special friend Greg Martin of Narrows; her sister Eller K. Breeding of Pembroke; her sister-in-law China L Gray of Crawfordville, FL; a cousin who she thought of as a sister, Anna Sue Martin of Narrows; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Reggie Britts and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
