Sanborn, Vera Riggs

Vera Mae “Pinkie” Riggs Sanborn, 60, of Pearisburg, VA, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. She was born May 30, 1958 at Pearisburg, VA, the daughter of the late Julian & Edna Keffer Riggs.

She loved cooking and used that as a profession she enjoyed. She enjoyed working with flowers and watching hummingbirds. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed giving each member of her family special heartfelt cards and gifts to commemorate their birthdays which included cartoons, poems and special stamps.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Gabriel Martin and fiancée Lori Surface and Temple Dawn Martin and fiancé Tim Phillips; granddaughter, Audrey Mae Martin; her brothers & sisters-in-law, John Riggs, Mitchel Riggs, Robert & Mary Anne Riggs and Michael & Tammy Riggs; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Deborah & Louis Vest and Barbara & Kenny Martin; and a special aunt & uncle, Hazel & Basil Mustard.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at the White Gate Community Center with a luncheon to follow. All are invited to come celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Pinkie’s honor to A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134, to help with funeral expenses.
