sampson_donald_dewey_srDonald Dewey Sampson Sr., 66, of Pulaski, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Va. Born December 20, 1943, in Craigsville he is the son of Kenneth Lyle Sampson and Edith Hostetter Sampson of Goshen. Donald was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mayumi Faith Clinedinst; and a favorite uncle, Laddy Hostetter. Mr. Sampson was a member of the Valley Harvest Ministries of Dublin Va., he was retired from the United States Air Force where he served his country for 23 years and 6 months, he was also a Disabled American Veteran. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, MiSun Sampson; his children, Donna Sampson-Ramirez, Dianna S. Ailstock, Donella S. Carter, Donald D. Sampson Jr., Darlene N. Sampson; seven grandsons; six granddaughters; sisters, Shirley S. Bragg, Phyllis S. Howard, Penny S. Barker, Doris S. Statler; and a brother, Joey L. Sampson. Don was married to MiSun, his wife of 25 years. MiSun unselfishly helped him raise his children, was his loving caregiver as his health failed and loved him with all her heart until death parted them. He was a loving son, father, husband and grandfather. He was a family man who was compassionate, had a big heart and a great love for others. He was faithful to God and his family. He enjoyed outdoor activities, collected coins and sports cards. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at Craigsville, Sensabaugh, Zimmerman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Goshen. Friends may gather with the family Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 6 to 8 at Craigsville, Sensabaugh, Zimmerman Funeral Home in Craigsville Va.
