salinas_orlando_francoDr. Orlando F. Salinas died April 22, 2011. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Dr. Salinas completed his medical studies and training in Cleveland, Ohio. He practiced medicine in Tidewater, Virginia Beach and Blacksburg, Va. for 33 years He was 81 years old. Dr. Salinas is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anita Morales Salinas, and six children and their spouses: Ana Maria S. Blevins (Lyle) of Fayetteville, NC; Rosita S. Perry (Mike) of Pulaski, VA; Pilar S. Derenge (Charles) of Phoenix, AZ; Orlando Salinas, Jr. (Michelle) of Pembroke Pines, FL; Juan A. Salinas (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ; and Marcos A. Salinas (Tami) of Ashburn, VA. Also surviving Dr. Salinas are 24 Grandchildren. Dr. Salinas was a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the New River Valley of General Practice. Dr. Salinas also was a Past Master of Hunter’s Masonic Lodge in Blacksburg, Va. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, April 25th, from 5:30-7:30 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1205 Old Mill Rd. Blacksburg, VA 24060 A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Remi Sojka officiating.
