John Randolph (Randy) Sadler, 77, of Pleasant Hill Drive in Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital after a long illness. Born in Giles County on February 22, 1932, he was a son of the late Bittle King Sr. and Lula Mae Harris Sadler.

He was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows, was a veteran of the United States Army, Korean Conflict, and was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church at Guinea Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bascum Sadler and Walter L. Sadler; and a sister, Georgia Stevens. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife, Lois “Susie” Stump Sadler; his sons, David R. “Chuck” and Melissa Sadler, of Pembroke, Kevin and Karen Sadler ,of Blacksburg, and Eric Sadler and his friend, Michelle Caldwell, of Blacksburg; his granddaughters, Jessica Sadler and Sarah Sadler; his brothers, B.K. Sadler Jr., of Pearisburg, and Charles H. and wife, Freda Sadler, of Pulaski; and his sisters, Josephine S. Johnston, of Pembroke, Rhoda S. Stephens, of Eggleston, and Alice S. Hamblin, of Pembroke.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Paula Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
