Sadler, Jean Moorefield

Our precious mother, Jean Moorefield Sadler, 88, of Christiansburg went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Jean was born in 1933 to her two loving parents Frank and Gladys Martin of Blacksburg, VA.

Jean worked most of her life as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floyd, VA and at Heritage Hall in Blacksburg, VA. She was a devoted Christian and beloved member of the Oak Grove Church in Christiansburg, VA.

Jean was a loving and dedicated mother who always made time for her children and grandchildren. She always greeted her family and friends with a beautiful smile, a warm hug, and an “I love you”. She had a way of never forgetting a birthday, holiday or anniversary, her cards always arrived with perfect timing.

She was preceded in death by husbands Allen W. Moorefield, Lacy Richardson, James Mann, and John E. Sadler, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Reed, son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Denise Moorefield, brother and sister-in-law, C. Donald Martin and wife Chattie, step-children, John E. Sadler, Jr. and wife, Crystall, Kristin Sadler Boyd and husband, Randy, Scott Sadler and wife, Melissa, grandchildren, Mary Griffith and husband, Brad, Jacob Reed and wife, Jennifer, Dakota Reed, Trish Fizer, Alesia Moorefield, Samantha Palmatier, Courtney Daniel and husband, Tyler, Kenzie Sadler, Dawson Sadler, Zack Boyd, Macy Sadler, Eli Sadler, and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, January 21, 2022 at 5:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel . The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 pm before the service at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
