Reva Pauline Harris Rupe, 76, of Radford, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Conway Rupe Jr.

Born on December 12, 1932, in Indian Valley, Va., she was a daughter of the late Clifton and Maude Duncan Harris. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a retired sales person with Belk Department Stores, GE in Lynchburg, Va., and Critikon in Tampa, Fla.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike James, of Matthews, N.C.; a son, Max Conway Rupe III, of Radford; three grandchildren, Wesley James and his wife, Jen, and Lauren James, all of Matthews, N.C., and Ryan James, of Charleston, S.C.; a greatgranddaughter, Audrey James, of Matthews, N.C.; four sisters, Eula Phillips and Dotte Foster, both of Christiansburg, Zula Price, of Radford, and Bernice Albert, of Lynchburg; a brother, Paul Harris, of Christiansburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Central United Methodist Church in Radford with the Rev. Tammy Wright and the Rev. Ric Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Harry McCoy and his staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Care in Christiansburg and also to the nursing staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital and the staff at New River Cancer Care Center in Pulaski, Va.
