Ross Sr., Donald Lee

Donald Lee Ross Sr., of Brookman St., Narrows, Va., departed this life on Monday morning, January 31, 2011, at his home. Born in Roderfield, W.Va., on November 2, 1940, he was a son of the late Ernie Sr. and Mary Martin Ross. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had been employed as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Ross; and a sister, Doris Jean Ross. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Eric L. Ross, of West Suffield, Conn., and Donald L. Ross Jr., of Narrows; his daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Patzy Izzo, of Massachusetts, Julie Ross, of Florida, Anita and Randy Cross, of Massachusetts, Nannette Brown, of Enfield, Conn., Kelly and Mike Meredith, of Rich Creek, and Elizabeth Ross, of Enfield, Conn.; his brothers, Roger Allen and Betty Ross, of Carthage, Ind., and Ernie Jr. and Brenda Ross, of Sophia, W.Va.; and his 17 grandchildren; his dear friend whom he could always depend on, Norma Ross, of Florida. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. Military Graveside Services will be performed by American Legion Posts #311 in Pembroke, #68 in Narrows, #145 in Peterstown and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows.
