LaVonne Doris Rosenberg, 83, of Blacksburg, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008. She was retired from the Department of the Navy as an administrative assistant after 37 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Rosenberg; a brother, Gene M. Fisher; and a great-grandson, Lucas Sutphin. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Past Virginia State President Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and Past Senior National Officer of the National Society Children of the American Revolution.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Marsha and Wayne McNatt, of Fairview, Texas, and Theresa Flinchum, of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Michael Davison, of San Francisco, Calif., Robert Gallana, of Springfield, Mo., Regina Sutphin, of Christiansburg, and Talmadge Flinchum, of Blacksburg; and four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Madelyn Gallana and Wyatt and Garrett Sutphin.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
