Lewis Edward Roseberry, 87, of Pulaski, died Thursday morning, September 21, 2006 in Pulaski Community Hospital.

He was born September 15, 1919 in Pulaski County, Va., and was the son of the late Annie Bell Songer Roseberry and Alexander Roseberry.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Force, was a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post 1184, and was the sole surviving member of the Pulaski Flyers Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and was a retired Draftsman for Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Roseberry, Howard Dwayne Roseberry, and Marion Roseberry. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorcas Austin Roseberry of Pulaski; a daughter, Jan Roseberry Butcher and her husband J. Jeffrey of Broadway, Va.; two sisters, Virginia Chrisley of Dublin, and Arlene Huff and her husband Harry of Ft. Worth, Texas.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, James Bennett Butcher and Laura Elizabeth Butcher, both of Broadway; and a very special sister-in-law, Clara McConnell of Roanoke, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 524 N. Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin where the V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military graveside rites.

Visiting will be anytime Saturday after 4 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, but for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Roseberry’s memory to the First Christian Church, 524 N. Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
