Roseberry, Barbara Phipps

Barbara Phipps Roseberry, 80, of Dublin, died Monday, December 17, 2012, at LewisGale Hospital-Salem. She was born February 7, 1932, in Perry Point, Md., and was the daughter of the late Earl Warren Phipps and Edith Sutherland Phipps. Barbara moved from Perry Point to Elk Creek and finally to Dublin, where she raised her family and became longtime member of the Mt. View United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hollis Sutherland Phipps. She is survived by her loving husband, Ellis Roseberry; and only son, Allen Roseberry, both from Dublin. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Nathan Roseberry, Nikki Roseberry and Natalee Roseberry; and a brother, Robert Phipps; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Phipps; a brother-in-law, Lee Bratton; and many nieces and nephews. Ellis and Barbara were the owner and operators of Roseberry Campground located on Claytor Lake. Their 49 years spent at Claytor Lake were joyful years, and they collected many caring and loving friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 20, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with her funeral to follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery.
