rose rickey carlRickey Carl Rose, 55, of Christiansburg, went to his heavenly home Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was at his home with his children and wife by his side. He was the son of the late Fred Carl Rose, Joyce Ann Jessie, and very special stepfather, Guy H. Jessie. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, John W. Russell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teresa Ann Rose, of the home; two sons, Ryan and Rebecca Rose, of Christiansburg, Thomas Walls Jr., of Poca, W.Va.; one daughter, Bridgett Rose Hawley, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Elijah, Kody, Isaac and Arianna; two brothers, Raye and Tammy Rose, of Hiddenite, N.C., Tim and Teresa Rose, of Springville; two sisters, Faye and Donnie Hicks, of Squire, W.Va., Teena and Larry Boucher, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; special aunt, Lois Rose; uncle, Dean Keel. Other special people in his life, mother-in-law, Marie Russell; daughter-in-law, Kathy E. Walls; and special friends, Marvin and Sonna Gates, also survive. He spent his life working as a journeyman mechanic and electrician at Olga Coal Co. for 12 years and New River/Va. Castings for 23 years until he had to retire due to his illness. He had many cares in his life, playing with his grandchildren, Minnesota Vikings, serving his Lord, and providing for his family. He actively attended Lighthouse Family Ministries. A special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in the Lighthouse Family Ministries with the Rev. Ryan Rose and the Rev. Buford Linkous officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, in the James Alexander Christian Cemetery, Paynesville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Lighthouse Family Ministries, 365 Union Valley Road, Riner. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
