Rose, Peggie Hairston
Peggie H. Rose, 77, of Pulaski, formerly of Roanoke, Va. departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2007. A very devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend slipped quietly into the arms of the Lord after a short illness.
She was born on December 15, 1929, daughter of the late Richard and Pauline H. Christian. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Carrington J. Rose and a devoted son, Jerry R. Rose.
Peggie retired from Signet Bank. She was proud of being an alumni of Christiansburg Institute and held the office of treasurer in the Roanoke Chapter until her health declined. She was the matriarch of her family and ruled with wisdom and love. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Those rejoicing in her memory include her loving son, Carringtion Rodell Rose and a very loving and devoted daughter, Carolyn Rose-Taylor (her devoted friend Isiah McClanahan), all of Pulaski, Virginia; granddaughter, Alexis D. Rose, Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Sylvia Louise Webb, Roanoke, Va., Faith T. Christian, Blacksburg, Va.; brother, James (Bubby) Christian and wife Jeanie of Christiansburg, Va.; devoted special caregiver, her niece Lisa Yvette Webb, Roanoke, Va. and nephew Albert Turner, Amherst, VA; all other caregivers, Isiah McClanahan Pulaski, Va.; nephews, Derrick Webb, Anthony Christian, Phillip Webb Jr., Lyndon Webb and Darnell Webb, all of Roanoke; nieces, Cassandra Taylor, Roanoke, Va., Jamey Christian, Christiansburg, Va.; devoted friends throughout the years Ann Mills, Radford, Va., Gloria and James E. Davis, Dorothty Laprade, Madeline Chandler, all of Roanoke, Va. and Ola Rogers, Gate City, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Carillion NRV Hospice for all their services rendered during this our time of grief.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Dr. Ulas N. Broady officiating. The interment will be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
