Billy Ellis Rorrer, son of the late Earnest Ray Rorrer and Minnie Ellen Dalton Rorrer, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2014, at the Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene Meredith Rorrer and his daughter and son-in law, Sherri Darlene Rorrer Quesenberry and Reginald Coy Quesenberry. Also, he leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Ray Rorrer and Peggy Hudson Rorrer and sister and brother-in-law, Hilda Rorrer Crigger and Franklin Duaine Crigger. He was also blessed with many very special nieces and nephews. Mr. Rorrer was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country honorably aboard the USS Manchester in the United States Navy. He served his nation once again by delivering the U.S. Mail in the town of Pulaski for 32 years, and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He made friends with many people along the route and with quite a few dogs. Two of those furry friends followed him to the family home later, Flabo and Rusty. He always felt a closeness to his Lord, whether working in his garden, on his metal shop, or just enjoying nature at his country home. The Rorrer Family united with Memorial Baptist Church in 1976 where he was ordained as a deacon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow in Thornspring Cemetery where military honors will be performed. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. There will be no visitation at their Alum Spring home. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Arrangements by Seagle Funeral Home, Pulaski.
