Root, Gerald Wayne

Gerald Wayne Root, 79, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Gerald served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He had many hobbies including wood crafts and stamp collecting. He was a 7 ½ year resident of Narrows and a multi-family property manager for 50+ years.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Root; daughter and son-in-law, Karin and David Biggins; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Jennifer Barber, Jr., Michael and Pamela Barber, and Jesse and Dawn Barber; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be private.
The Root family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
