Lewis Edward (Paw Paw) Roop, 78, of Belspring, Va., died on Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

He was a retired employee of Clover Creamery Company and was one of the early founders of Gethsamane Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Teresa Roop of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Marion (Lucky) Lutz of Dublin; two sisters, Betty McCoy and Jeanette Nelson, both of Dublin; five grandchildren, Christy Everhart and husband, Matt, Ben Roop and wife, Stacey, Brie Combs and husband, Bradley, Brian Harris and Michael Lutz; one great-grandchild; and two step great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Highland Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James Walker and the Rev. Ed Roop. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
