Roop, Donald Wesley

Donald Wesley Roop, 89, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at his home in Radford. He was a member of the Radford Worship Center and retired foreman from R.A.A.P. (Hercules Powder) after 35 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corp.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Reba Roop; and many other family members.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Frances P. Roop; son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Elaine Roop of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tony Viars of Radford, and Karen and Steve Bernier of Farmville; 7 grandsons and 6 great-grandchildren; step brother, Andy Brinkley of N.C.; nieces and nephews; church family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Dr. Hal Adams, Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Ted Farmer officiating. Interment will be private in West View Cemetery.
