Roop, Clara Smith

Clara Jewell Smith Roop, 78, of Dublin, died Friday morning, August 12, 2011 at her home. She was born in Virginia on March 21, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Millard Smith and Pierce Hawley Smith.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina R. and Shannon Bishop, Pulaski, Linda and David Phillips, Snowville; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Diane Roop, Dublin, Billy G. and Catherine Roop, Snowville, Christopher Roop, Pulaski; her sweetheart, Danny Gregory; sisters, Esther O’Dell, Dublin and Peggy Smith of Texas; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Samantha Bishop, Kyndra Phillips, Tammy Gregory, Cathy Gregory and Netta Rollins for her care during her illness.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Judy Yonce officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Sunday from the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
