Roop, Catherine Denise

Catherine Denise Roop, 49, of Pilot, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She was born in Christiansburg, on February 5, 1964. She was a member of Lighthouse Family Ministries.

She is survived by her parents, Joseph H. and Ruth Barker Roop of Pilot; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Mike Thompson of Yoakum, Texas; brothers, Donald Roop, James (Andy) Roop, both of Pilot; nephews, Joseph and Isaiah Herrera; aunts and uncles, James and Virginia Barker, Marvin and Velma Barker, Ronnie and Ruth Barker, Carolyn and Bennie Agnew, Dorothy and Wilford Adkins, Bobby and Bernice Roop.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buford Linkous officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Family Ministries Building Fund, 301 Merrimac Rd., Blacksburg, VA 24060.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
