Rooney, Geneva A.

Geneva Akers Rooney, 80, of Pulaski and formerly of Allisonia, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center.

Born December 28, 1927, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Millard Harvey Akers and Flora Lena Clark Akers. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy Rooney, Dublin, and Mark and Susan Rooney, Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Roy Hamblin, Newbern, and Gail and Wayne Sutphin, Newbern; grandchildren , Greg, Brandon and Tiffany, Jeremy and Heather, Ashley, Tegan, Sarah and Travis; great-grandson, Lane; and sister, Mildred Jacobs, Rockville, Md.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Bobby Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Allison Family Cemetery, Allisonia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, March 14, 2008, at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Mark and Susan Rooney, 104 7th St. N.W. , Pulaski.
