Flora Elizabeth “Dit” Holden Rocovich died on December 12, 2006. Born on April 15, 1919, Dit was a lifelong resident of Blacksburg, Virginia.

A 1939 graduate of Virginia Tech, she was employed by Virginia Tech for 42 years prior to her retirement in 1984. She was predeceased by her husband, Captain John George Rocovich, Sr.; her parents, Elizabeth Evans Holden and Roy J. Holden, Sr.; her brother, Roy J. Holden, Jr., and her sisters, Sarah Virginia Holden Hummel and Joyce Evans Jones.

She is survived by her son, John George Rocovich, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Sue Ellen Butler Rocovich; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Holden Rocovich, all of Roanoke; her grandson, Frank Butler Rocovich, and his wife, Courtney Kesler Rocovich; her nieces, Mary Benton Hummel, Elizabeth Hummel Hancock and her husband, Clarence Thomas Hancock, and Nancy Holden Boyenton and her husband, John Boyenton; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarabeth Hancock, Alexander Hancock, John Boyenton, Suzanne Boyenton, and Timothy Boyenton. The family would like to thank Dit’s kind caregivers, Madeline Anderson, Judy Riley, and Sherry Haupt.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, please remember the Blacksburg Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
