Anna Louise Miller Robinson, 93, of Pembroke, departed this life Saturday morning, February 8, 2014 in the care of Heritage Hall Rich Creek. She was born in Roanoke on May 31, 1920 a daughter of the late Dr. James W. and Anna Sibold Miller.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Sam A. Robinson; her brothers Jefferson Miller, Walter Miller and Ralph Miller; her sister Ola St. Clair and her nephew Stanley Miller.

Louise lived all her life in Pembroke, graduated from Pembroke High School, Radford College (BS Degree) and UVA (Masters Degree). She taught 34 years in the Giles Co. School System at Pembroke High, Giles High, and Macy McClaugherty. She was a member of UDC; Pembroke Christian Church (DOC); Pembroke Women’s Club; and organized the Pembroke Library. She wrote “History of the Schools in Pembroke” and published in the Virginian Leader.

Her hobbies were the History of Giles County, Cooking, and Travel (several trips across the US, into Mexico, to England, Holland, Canada, and a cruise to the Bahamas).

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved nieces and nephews: Jimmie and Bill Pletta, Joann Miller, Michael and Joan Miller, Steven and Lynn Miller, John and Bonnie Miller, Terry and Sandra Armbrister, Sue and Pete Cerrutti.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
