Robinson, Ellen Shaver

Ellen Shaver Robinson, 87, of Blacksburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Ellen was born on March 26, 1931 in Montgomery County, VA, the daughter of the late Charles Rudolph and Annie Cook Shaver. Ellen married Archie E. Robinson on June 18, 1949, enjoying 69 years together.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Sidney, William Franklin, Billy Joe, and Bette June Shaver.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Archie E. Robinson, son, Larry E. Robinson, daughter and son-in-law, Vicki R. and Brian R. Firtion; grandchildren, Kelly Robinson, Dustin Robinson and wife, Jennifer, Matthew Firtion, Zachary Robinson and wife, Ashley; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Louise Shaver Rogers, Peggy Shaver Myers, and Patsy Shaver Snead; brothers, Jimmy Lee Shaver and Johnny Thomas Shaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Chelsea, Claire, Doctors Carpenter and Cox and the medical and cafeteria staff at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery as well as the nurses, CNAs and Angela at Heritage Hall for their kindness and support.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
