Robinson, Donald Wayne

Donald Wayne Robinson, age 70, of Blacksburg died, Thursday, September 8, 2016, at his home. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on December 25, 1945. He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired from the United States Army. He became a Blacksburg Police Officer in 1974 and retired in 1999.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, D.J. and Heather Robinson, grandchild, Carleigh Robinson, former wife and longtime friend, Leigh Collins, her parents, Lou and Bill Collins, her sisters, Lynne Collins Canan, Sandy Collins Odend’hal and husband, Fortune, Shannon Collins Berry and husband, Jim, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Scott Obenchain officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 1300 Progress St., Blacksburg, VA 24060.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
