Robertson, Helen Audra Niday

Helen Audra Niday Robertson, 92, of Narrows, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 4, 2011. She was born on October 31, 1919, a lifelong resident of the Wolf Creek community, Narrows, Virginia, a 1936 graduate of Narrows High School and a faithful member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church. Helen served many years in a number of capacities at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church, including secretary/treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and an active member in the women’s ministries. She also served as church representative to the Giles County Christian Mission Board, and volunteered at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ercell Robertson; parents, David Emmern and Sally Rogers Niday, sister, Ruth N. Hale, son-in-law, Edwin Green and granddaughter, Audra Green Kline. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Lois Robertson, David and Shellie Robertson, all of Narrows; daughters and son-in-law, Janet R. Green, and Denise R. and Bobby Jones, all of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Rylan Green, Dani Byham, Debbie Hale, Megan Jones, Ryan Jones, Shane Jones; three stepgrandsons, Justin, Seth, and Brennen Crane; five great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Peerless W. and Phyllis Niday of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two special brothers-in-law and wives, Ben and Ruby Robertson, and Doug and Brenda Robertson; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows with the Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
