Robertson, Harold Woodrow

Harold Woodrow Robertson, 95, of the Thessalia Community, Pearisburg, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, Va.

Mr. Robertson was born on April 28, 1912 in Thessalia and was a son of the late Tyler Sutton Robertson and Della R. Robertson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lura Elizabeth St. Clair Robertson; one son, Harold Douglas Robertson; two brothers; and two sisters. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Thessalia Methodist Church, was the postmaster of Thessalia for 26 years and was a R.F.D. carrier out of Pearisburg for 5 years.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel H. (Danny) and Lawanda Robertson, of Pearisburg; one brother, Owen Robertson, of Richmond; five grandchildren, Daniel Todd Robertson and wife, Dana, Lora Anderson and husband, Jerry, Joseph L. Perkins and wife, Donetta, Steve D. Perkins, and Della Jean Millirons; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the Thessalia United Methodist Church, with Charles Henderson and the Rev. Paula Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Thessalia Cemetery.
