Robertson, Glada Mae

Glada Mae Robertson, 82 of Pearisburg, formerly of Glen Lyn, went to join her Heavenly family on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, after fighting a lengthy illness. She was born in Narrows on June 27th, 1933, and was the daughter of the late James A. and Ethel P. Robertson.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronald Jeffery (R.J.) Meador Jr.; a great niece, Katrina Marie Bailey; her twin sister, Ada R. Meadows; a brother-in-law, Charles E.. Meadows; and three brothers, Lloyd, Andrew and Caudill Robertson; and a nephew by marriage, Edward H. Johnson.

Glada was a member of Glen Lyn Church of Christ, retired from Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 39 years of service, a member of the Glen Lyn Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, and a member of the Share program for 13 years.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Teresa Robertson of Pearisburg; a granddaughter, Lindsay Paige Robertson of Pearisburg; nieces and their husbands, Belinda and Mark Waldron of Glen Lyn, Marlene and Timmy Bailey, Rebecca and Elwood Lambert, and Darlene and Jimmy Smith, all of Narrows; two nephews, Andrew “Bud” Robertson of Bluefield, West Virginia, and James and Rhonda Robertson of Rich Creek. Glada was a mother to all of her family, including several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held at at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Ronnie Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel Saturday from 11 a.m. until just prior to the service. The family will gather at the home of Mark and Belinda Waldron; 311 Risley Circle; Glen Lyn, Virginia 24093.
