Robertson, Carrie, Blevins Owens

Carrie Blevins Owens (Granny Carrie) Robertson of Dublin, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. She was 96 years old.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, George W. Owens and Byird F. Robertson; her children, George “Mitchell” Owens, William H. Owens, Jerry D. Owens Sr. and Ronald W. Owens; and one grandson, George Ellis Owens.

Carrie was saved in 1927 and attended the New River Valley Baptist Church in Pulaski.

Surviving are 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Dolly Owens, of Draper, Irene Smith, of Hardy, and Dottie Dillon, of Roanoke. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home.

Services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the New River Valley Baptist Church, Pulaski with Pastor Jeff Aikens officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
