Roberts, Shelby Simpkins

Shelby Simpkins Roberts, 72, of Christiansburg, passed away on August 2, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bobby N. Roberts; her son, Herbert Roberts and wife, Fe; grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Geraldine Pontawe; a special dog named Bud; sisters, Linda Smith and husband, Bob, of Riner, Teresa Davis, of Christiansburg; brothers, Herbert Simpkins, Sammy Simpkins and wife, Peggy, Travis Simpkins and wife, Gail, Nelson Simpkins and wife, Debbie, Don Simpkins, all of Christiansburg.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Rasor officiating.
