Roberts, Georgia Ann Ratliff

Georgia Ann Ratliff Roberts, 95, of Shawsville, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010. She was born September 18, 1915 to the late Lemuel and Mae Shortridge Ratliff. She was also preceded in death by husbands Sam Tollison, Arthur Stiltner and Clayton Roberts; sisters, Ruth Holbrook, Gertrude Turner and Bonnie Snyder; and brothers, Clyde Ratliff and Hayes Davis and stepdaughter, Merl Sisson. She was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She is survived by her sons, Sam Tollison (Marge), of Riner, Va. and Jay Roberts (Audrey), of Shawsville, Va.; daughters, Erma Mays (Paul), of Maxie, Va., Phyllis Walters (Ed), of Salem, Va. and Patsy Wallace (Gene), of Floyd, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Ann Barkley, of Shawsville, Va.; stepsons, Bob Roberts (Marie), of Salem, Va. and Benny Roberts, of Shawsville, Va.; 11 stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren and three step-great-great grandchildren; sisters, Laura Williams and Jetty Casey; brothers, Linden Davis and Bernard Davis; and many other family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to her special helper, Lisa, for all her love, and the hospice nurses for their care and advice over the past few weeks. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14, Shawsville, VA 24162. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
