On the Fifth of November, Jerry Ray Roach, age 58, passed away surrounded by family at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital. He was born in Dublin, GA and had lived most of his life in the Pearisburg area.

Jerry was a member of the Giles High School Class of 1980. Jerry was never afraid of a hard day’s work; throughout his lifetime he worked many different jobs all in the name of supporting his family. At Wades Supermarket, working his way up from bag boy to an accomplished store manager, at NRV Regional Jail, as a corrections officer, and at Moog Components Group, as an electronics assembler for many years.

He always enjoyed working on a multitude of side projects both big and small, from fixing up the house to tending to his flowers in the garden or time with his family every chance he could, whether watching westerns, entertaining Tucker (the family dog), or sharing his trademark wit and humor. Never in short supply of care and kindness, he had a ready smile for everyone, those moments will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Tammy Roach; sons, Daniel and Jacob Roach, father Ollie Roach; sisters, Patricia Roach, Dorthea Meredith, and Anna Pecachek; and bis brother, Roy Roach. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Roach.

There will be a funeral service conducted on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke, VA. Family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 5, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. The family would like to request that all friends be respectful and remember to follow the COVID-19 Guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor of Virginia.
