ritter wendell heathWendell Heath (Red) Ritter Jr., 75, of Belspring, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 1, 2012. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from RAAP with 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Mary Nester Ritter, an infant son, Richard Alvin Ritter, and siblings, Robert, Arvil, John, Wallace, Oscar, Tammy and Betty. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Daisy Whitlock Ritter; three daughters and son-in-law, Veronica and Jeff Parsell, Charlotte Rene Huff and Regina Ritter Hicks, all of Belspring; grandchildren, Ambria Nicole and Brandon Kirk Huff; sister, Margaret Hancock of Fairlawn; sisters-in-law, Nancy Ritter of Parrott and Judy Ritter of Radford; brother-in-law, Morris Perfater of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle with the Rev. Earnest Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
