Riggs, Shelby Moye

Shelby Moye Riggs, 80, of Eggleston, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Country View Assisted Living. She was born October 4, 1940 in Pearisburg, VA, the daughter of the late James Estil Moye & Jessie Pyles Moye Payne.

She was a devout Christian who loved her family and was known for her cooking.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Willis Riggs, two grandchildren, her step-father, Opal Carr Payne, her brothers, James Estil Moye, Jr., Hobert Clifton Moye, Billy Moye and Carrlee J. Payne, her sister, Barbara V. Green, and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Julian, David, Margie, Betty and Douglas.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons & daughters-in-law, Willis & Diane Riggs, Willie & Melissa Riggs, Robin Riggs and Calvin & Jennifer Riggs; her daughters & sons-in-law, Sheila & Steve Collins, Wanda & Johnny Burton and Terry Riggs; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister & brothers-in-law, Virginia & Lonnie Stone, Billy & Sue Riggs, and Gilbert Riggs; sisters-in-law, Mary Coy and Irene Willim; numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and brothers & sisters in Christ.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Clayton Riggs Family Cemetery, located at the family home place in Eggleston, VA, with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
