Rierson, Jr., Frank William

Frank William Rierson Jr. of Check, Virginia, went to be with Jesus after a brave and valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He joins his dad and mom, Frank William Sr. and Betty Jane Akers Rierson, as well as his brother, John William Rierson.

He was a devout servant of the Lord and is enjoying life and life more abundantly. He worked hard all his life helping his dad with his tree business, FW Rierson & Son in the 1980s and after that with various other jobs. He was not afraid of anything, had an incredibly big heart, and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Eve; three sons, Jacob, Leon, and Eli Rierson; sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Alan Stanley; niece and nephew, Kelly Stanley and Dustin Stanley; aunts, Mary Alice Akers (Cliff Worrell), and Linda Faye Duncan (James); cousins, Robin Hogan, Roger Clemmons, Ray Clemmons, and Jammie Duncan; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Oakey’s South Chapel. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Head of the River Cemetery in Copper Hill, Va. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.oakeys.com.
